Experience the History of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Martin Luther King Historic Park consist of several historical buildings. This location gives you the opportunity to see the home where Dr. King was raised, the Ebeneezer Baptist Church where he was baptized and his memorial tomb that is located on a plaza between the center and the church. King’s gravesite and a reflecting pool are located next to Freedom Hall. These places were included in the former national historic site established on October 10, 1980.

Learn about the life of Jimmy Carter. He was born and raised in Plains Georgia and served as the 39th President of the United States of America from 1971 to 1981. He later turned to diplomacy and advocacy, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2002.

The Krog Street Tunnel is known for its street art. The short underpass was built in 1912. It connects the neighborhood of Cabbegetown and Inman Park. Its connected to the BeltLine and is very popular among cyclists.

Ponce City Market is recognized with The National Trust for Historic Preservation. This complex building dates back to 1926 which was originally a Sears Roebuck store and headquarter until 1979. In 2014 it opened as a retail, dining and residential complex. Ponce City Market has a few fascinating tibits of history. It’s been known as the Ponce de Leon Connection, Skyline Park, Spiller Park, Nine Mile Station, RFD Social and the Farmers Market. Grab a bite to eat at the food hall which is home to 15 vendors and restaurants.

Stop At: Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center, 190 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303, USA

Walk through the halls of the CNN Center. You will get a view of the historic first newscast building. The CNN Center is the world headquarters of Cable News Network. The main newsrooms and studios for several of CNN’s news channels are located in the building. In 1985 Ted Turner purchased the Omni International hotel and renamed it the CNN Center. This building was a key component in the revitalization of downtown Atlanta.

Stop At: Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Avenue West NW, Atlanta, GA 30313-1615

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Park. It was built for the 1996 Summer Olympics game which also the location of the domestic terrorist pipe bombing attack. A large portion of the park was closed and redesigned for daily public uses after the attack. You can cool off in the iconic fountain and take a selfie on the lawns or by the garden. Centennial Olympic Park is the centerpiece of Atlanta’s Olympic legacy and downtown entertainment district.
