Galena Trip Overview
We provide a controlled environment for safe horseback riding for kids and beginners, and a petting zoo. We have a 22,000 sqft equestrian center with a spectacular view of Mississippi river sunsets. We also rent apartments where you can see the animals and beautiful scenery right outside your windows. Our horses are calm and happy in this place. They love to be petted and groomed. The goats, pig, and chickens are friendly and will eat out of your hands. Rub the pigs belly, scratch the goats between their horns and feed meal worms to the chickens and watch the smiles grow on your family’s faces. The ducks provide comical quacking as they waddle around the property. The pig grunts as she seeks out food anywhere she can find it. The goats stay with the horses and butt heads with each other. The miniature horse is absolutely wonderful with kids.

Itinerary
We don’t do trail rides. We provide beginner riders with a gentle and very controlled experience on horseback with Wrangler Roger leading the horse and a petting zoo. We start slow and we end slow. We focus mostly on kids, but also give rides to beginner adults (weight limit 200 lbs). We have 2 goats, a mini pig, 9 guinea pigs, 3 dogs, 6 chickens, 3 ducks, 7 horses, a miniature horse, and 3 baby snapping turtles. Safety is first priority, followed closely by fun. We can do the rides and petting zoo in any weather in our 60’ x 160’ indoor riding arena and large indoor stable. Safety note: wear sturdy shoes around horses. Price is a group rate (max of 6 people). We normally are available at 9 and 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm or 5 pm – every day but Wednesday. Instant book 9 am on Saturday or coordinate for other times. Normally we start with horseback rides for half our time. We swap riders so everyone who wants to ride gets a chance. Non-riding group members can pet some of the other animals while rides are given. After the rides we introduce you to our barnyard animals. We are very flexible so let us know what you want.
