Yellowstone is located in the Rocky Mountains and covers an area of 890,000 hectares (2.2 million acres). The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including bison, elk, bear, and wolves.

Yellowstone is a popular tourist destination and is visited by more than 4 million people each year. The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the summer months, when the weather is warm and sunny.

Mammoth Hot Springs is a group of hot springs located in Yellowstone National Park in the US state of Wyoming. The springs are located in the Upper Geyser Basin, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Old Faithful.

Mammoth Hot Springs is one of the most popular attractions in Yellowstone National Park. The springs are known for their colorful terraces, which are formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate. The terraces constantly change shape and color as the hot water from the springs dissolves the calcium carbonate and washes it away.

Norris Geyser Basin is home to more than 200 geysers and hot springs, including Steamboat Geyser, the world’s tallest active geyser. Steamboat Geyser can erupt up to 380 feet (116 m) high and can last up to 10 minutes.

Norris Geyser Basin water is highly acidic, with a pH of 2.5 to 3.5. This acidity is caused by the presence of dissolved sulfuric acid. Acidity can cause rocks in the basin to dissolve, creating a variety of colorful formations, including travertine terraces, mud, and fumaroles.

The Madison Junction area is home to a variety of wildlife, including bison, elk, bear, and wolves. There are also a number of scenic overlooks and hiking trails in the area, offering stunning views of the park’s geothermal features and wildlife.

The best time to visit Madison Junction is during the summer months when the weather is warm and sunny. However, the area is open year-round.

Old Faithful erupts approximately every 90 minutes, with each eruption lasting between 1.5 and 5 minutes. The geyser can shoot water up to 185 feet (56 m) into the air.

Old Faithful is a cone geyser, which means it is made up of a cone-shaped mound of sinter. Sinter is a type of rock that forms when hot water and minerals settle into the ground.

West Thumb Geyser Basin is home to more than 50 geysers and hot springs, including Abyss Pool, Thumb Geyser, and Excelsior Geyser Crater. Abyss Pool is the deepest hot spring in Yellowstone National Park, with a depth of more than 125 feet (38 m). Thumb Geyser is a large geyser that erupts every few hours, and Excelsior Geyser Crater is the largest geyser in the West Thumb Geyser Basin.

West Thumb Geyser Basin is located in a relatively remote area of Yellowstone National Park, and can be accessed by a short trail from West Thumb Geyser Basin Overlook. The lookout offers amazing views of the lake and the geyser basin.
