Stop At: Amelia Earhart’s Marker, 3584 Diamond Head Rd, Honolulu, HI 96815, USA

Amelia Earhart Lookout is a beautiful lookout near Diamond Head State Monument and overlooking the clear blue water where Amelia Earhart gained the reputation as the first person to solo flight from Hawaii to North America. The view overlooks the surfers who hit the waves at one of Oahu’s most legendary surf spots.

The Makapu‘u lookout, within Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline, offers outstanding views of O‘ahu’s southeastern coastline, including Koko Head and Koko Crater. From the trail’s destination at Makapu‘u Head, one is rewarded with magnificent views of the windward coast and offshore islets, as well as the historic red-roofed Makapu‘u Lighthouse built in 1909, which makes a stunning picture against the deep blue sea below the lighthouse itself is off-limits.

Around 3 miles (4.8 km) long, Waimanalo Bay is lined by the longest uninterrupted white-sand beach on Oahu. It’s the perfect place for the ultimate beach stroll. Much of Waimanalo Beach is backed by ironwood trees, which provide plenty of shade.

Perched over a thousand feet above the Oahu coastline amid mountain peaks shrouded by clouds, the stone terrace overlooks the areas of Kaneohe and Kailua, Mokolii (a pointy island locals call Chinaman’s Hat) and the University of Hawaii’s marine biology research center, Coconut Island. Other notable landmarks that can be seen are Hawaii Pacific University’s Windward campus, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, which is part of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens.

The Pali Lookout is a site of deep historical significance. Named “Pali” meaning “cliff” in Hawaiian, the Pali Lookout is the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, wherein 1795 King Kamehameha first won the struggle that finally united Oahu under his rule. This fierce battle claimed hundreds of soldiers’ lives, many of which were forced off of the Pali’s sheer cliffs.

Stop At: Tantalus Lookout Puu Ualakaa State Park, Round Top Drive, Honolulu, Oahu, HI 96822

Visit famous Tantalus lookout (Puu Ualakaa State Park) 1049 ft, where you will see Panoramic view of Honolulu, forested area on a cinder cone close to downtown Honolulu. The lookout provides a sweeping view of southern Oahu from Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor, including Manoa Valley.
