Stop At: Nu’uanu Pali, Oahu, HI

Over a thousand feet above the Oahu coastline amid mountain peaks shrouded by clouds, this spectacular lookout offers impressive views of Kaneohe and Kailua, Mokol’ii (a pointy island locals call Chinaman’s Hat), and the University of Hawaii’s marine biology research center, Coconut Island. Other notable landmarks that can be seen are Hawaii Pacific University’s Windward campus, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, and the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, part of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens. This is a sight you’ll never forget

Stop At: Byodo-In Temple, 47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kaneohe, Oahu, HI 96744-4562

The Byodo-in Temple (which translates to “Temple of Equality”) was dedicated in 1968 to commemorate the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii. The temple offers a tranquil experience, with an 18-foot gold leaf-covered Buddha, large ponds filled with koi, and a five-foot, three-ton sacred bell (bon-sho).

Stop At: Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm and Farm Tour, 49-227 Kamehameha Hwy Ste A, Kaneohe, Oahu, HI 96744-5165

A family-owned farm macadamia nut farm that began its roadside operation in 1987, this farm boasts natural beauty and incredible views. Roosters and chickens freely roam the property, and the farm hosts an area where guests can put their skills to work and crack open their own nuts by placing them on a tree stump and striking them with a rock. A large gift shop can also be found nearby with several different varieties of macadamia nut (from simply salted to fun flavors like caramel and cinnamon). Guests can also enjoy delicious Kona coffee and purchase locally crafted arts and a variety of gifts.

Pass By: Kualoa Ranch, 49-560 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, Oahu, HI 96744-5152

Kualoa is a 4,000-acre private nature reserve and working cattle ranch, as well as a popular tourist attraction and filming location on the windward coast of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. It is about 24 miles from Honolulu, and 32 miles from Haleiwa.

Pass By: Oahu’s North Shore, Oahu’s North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii

The laid-back North Shore is a stretch of coast known for big waves and professional surfing contests at Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. In summer (May–Oct), Pūpūkea Marine Life Conservation District has calm water for snorkeling among colorful coral and fish. Indie galleries, surf shops and Hawaiian plate-lunch spots fill Haleiwa town, while the Dole Plantation runs tours of its pineapple fields and tropical gardens.

Our lunch stop on tour, North Shore Shrimp Trucks, is a local favorite. The shrimp are freshly harvested from a nearby shrimp farm, and they are MASSIVE. Their garlic shrimp plate is a delicious local favorite. There are also several other food trucks nearby to experience local cuisine.

Stop At: Hukilau Marketplace, 55-370 Kamehameha Hwy Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie, Oahu, HI 96762-2113

Hukilau Marketplace, at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, is a vintage throwback to 1950’s Hawaii, offering nostalgic food, local goods, and everyone-is-family hospitality. Whether you stop in weekly or on your Oahu vacation, the Hukilau Marketplace takes you by the elbow, puts you at ease, and invites you to experience the aloha of our quaint, century-old community.

Stop At: Haleiwa Town Center, 66-125, 66-145, 66-165, 66-197 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, Oahu, HI 96712-1412

Haleiwa is a charming, laid-back surf town filled with local style and country ambiance and excellent surf shops and boutiques, fascinating art galleries, and understated restaurants housed in plantation-era buildings. Rich with island history, Haleiwa is now the social and artistic hub of the North Shore. Haleiwa is a far cry from the excitement of Waikiki, and that’s precisely how the people of the North Shore like it.

Stop At: 64-1550 Kamehameha Hwy Dole Plantation, Wahiawa, Oahu, HI 96786-2915

Originally operated as a fruit stand in 1950, the Dole Plantation opened to the public in 1989. Dole Plantation provides activities for the entire family, including the Pineapple Express Train Tour, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze. You can also try a local favorite at the Gift Shop called DoleWhip, a fantastic frozen pineapple treat.

Stop At: Green World Coffee Farms, 71 N Kamehameha Hwy # 101, Wahiawa, Oahu, HI 96786-1858

Green World Coffee Farm is a small farm situated on the famous North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The coffee farm consists of 7 acres of land with approximately +3,000 arabica coffee trees. Green World Coffee Farm was established in 2013 by our owner Howard Green. They offer a full menu of items that can be purchased off the espresso bar, including a retail section where coffee bags and other local merchandise can be bought!
