This is a great hiking trail to start your park visit. Your app gives you directions to where you can find parking and plan on an optional hour or two exploring Joshua Tree on one of the most secluded trails.
Your GPS audio guide will continue again once you return to the road with your car.

Stop At: Hidden Valley, Off Park Blvd. 2 mi north of intersection with western end of Barker Dam Rd., Joshua Tree National Park, CA
Follow the GPS guide’s instructions to Intersection Rock. At this location, you can view the most popular rock-climbing location in the park. Take some time to walk around these monoliths and photograph some of the climbers that challenge the vertical limits.

This is an optional 18 mile one way drive. The GPS guide will direct you to the start. This road takes an hour to complete and requires a high-clearance 4 wheel drive to explore.

We direct you to the location of this iconic rock formation that is the most photographed rock in Joshua Tree. Sculpted by 1000s of years of erosion, this plutonic rock is easily recognized by it’s Skull. Don’t miss taking the 1 mile loop around this area for a closer look at the geology in this place located at the highest elevation for the tour.
