Experience the Hawaiian Humpback Whale Season
The Hawaiian Humpback Whale Season lasts from December – April of each year. Our 30-foot Zodiac© rigid-hull, inflatable raft is the perfect vessel for whale encounters. The Humpback whale is an endangered species, and Hawaii is the nation’s primary mating and calving ground for this species of whale. Kohala, the Hawaiian name for the Humpback whale, travel from Alaska over a distance of 2,000-3,500 miles to make their way to the warm waters of the Hawaiian Islands. Here in Hawaii, they mate and give birth to their young. Plan to join our Kauai whale watching tours if you are lucky enough to be in Hawaii during whale season. • By booking this tour, you understand the following: When ocean conditions are not favorable or the minimum passenger count for the safety and stability of our vessel is not met we will call, email, and or text you to provide notification of the cancellation. You will be offered the following options: Rebook your Whale Watching expedition for another date; Cancel your reservation and receive a full refund.
• We recommend booking early in your vacation in case of a weather cancellation, you have more time left in your vacation to rebook.
• Our tour departs from the west side of Kauai— We meet in Waimea at the Na Pali Riders office.
• WARNING: The Zodiac© raft makes for a wild and rough ride. Due to the nature of the Whale Watching Expedition, you must be in good physical condition to attend this tour. We cannot accommodate pregnant women, anyone with back or neck problems, medical conditions or recent surgeries.

CHECK IN IS AT 3:15 PM
Check in begins 45 minutes prior to departure and closes 30 minutes before departure. If you are not checked in at least 30 minutes before the tour departure time with your waivers signed for everyone in your party then you risk missing the tour with no refund.

Instructions:

LOCATION: Meet us at the NĀ PALI RIDERS OFFICE at 9600 Kaumuali’i Highway
Waimea, HI 96796 (After check-in, we’re headed to Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor, in your vehicle)

CHECK THE TIME IT TAKES FROM YOUR LOCATION TO OURS! (WAIMEA):
Please be considerate and plan ahead! Give yourselves MORE THAN ENOUGH driving time so that you arrive on time for your raft tour. We cannot stress this enough!

What to Bring:
Comfortable clothing
Swimsuit (wear it)
Towel
Reef Safe Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Hat (tie-down is recommended)
You will be barefoot on the raft tour (socks or water shoes are allowed)

What we Provide:

Chips and drinks (non-alcoholic beverages)
Waterproof duffel bag
Life vests (Provided upon request)

Recommendations for avoiding Sea Sickness:

Stay hydrated, especially the day before your tour
If you are unsure if you get sea sick, it is best to take precautions ahead of time
Take a sea sickness medication recommended by your doctor
We have Dramamine (non-drowsy) and sea sickness wrist bands available for purchase in our office
