Taliesin West was the winter home of famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright from 1937 to 1959. It is open for tours and also serves as the main campus of the School of Architecture at Taliesin and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The home is located on the foothills of the McDowell Mountains.
The construction of the home was inspired by the natural surroundings. The walls were made from local stones and many of the angles and flows of the rooms drew inspiration from the area as well. The home went through renovations when Wright returned annually, working with his students to carry out his design.

Downtown Scottsdale – more commonly known as Old Town Scottsdale – offers boutique shopping featuring souvenirs, jewelry and art with a Southwestern flair, or luxury shopping at one of the country’s best malls. A density of bars, lounges, restaurants and clubs offer myriad dining and nightlife opportunities within short distance of each other. And art fans can peruse the galleries of Main Street and visit the district’s contemporary and western museums.

The Heard Museum is a private, not-for-profit museum in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, dedicated to the advancement of American Indian art. The Heard Museum collaborates with American Indian artists and tribal communities on providing visitors with a distinctive perspective about the art of Native people, especially those from the Southwest.

Created in 1931, Desert Botanical Garden sits inside Papago Park and is home to a wealth of events, displays, and activities. During the winter months, the desert comes alive with a light and music display during the evening hours in the garden. Concerts and talks are also regularly featured as well as a handicap accessible trail that brings you close to desert wildflowers, cacti, and other flora.

Designed and built by architect Nozomu Okita in partnership with Phoenix’s sister city Himeji, the Japanese Friendship Garden is a traditional Japanese stroll garden located right in the city’s heart. Sitting on 3.5 acres of land, the garden features 1500 tons of hand-picked rock and more than 50 varieties of plants, a 12-foot waterfall, lanterns, streams, walking paths, and a massive Koi pond housing over 300 Koi fish.
