Cruise around the legendary walls of the Alamo and find out about the long-gone soldiers that are said to still wander its rooms. Nearby, check out the Spanish Governor’s Palace and investigate the tree out back, where dozens of criminals were once hanged.
Continue your creepy tour with close looks at the looming Tower of the Americas. This 750-foot (229-m) structure might not house many ghosts, but spirits supposedly inhabit buildings surrounding the tower in HemisFair Park.
Keep an eye out for mysterious activity and move on to the Menger Hotel, where you might see the pale figure of President Theodore Roosevelt, grabbing a drink at the bar where he once recruited cowboys for his band of Rough Riders. Nearby, look for ghouls at the Emily Morgan Hotel. Built in 1924 as a hospital, this Gothic-styled building apparently hosts a pack of paranormal patients.
