On the running tour we will be running a total of 2.5 miles. There are various stops that we will be using to show and tell the history of the Nations’s Oldest Port. The run should be a total of 20 minutes, while the entire tour will roughly take 45-60 minutes

Our tour will start at the Castillo de San Marcos parking lot where we will check-in and have a brief introduction.

Our first stop will be on the north side of the Castillo de San Marcos where we begin to tell the history of when St. Augustine was founded by the Spanish Admiral Pedro Menendez de Aviles in 1565.

At the base of the Bridge of Lions we will stop and discuss the dark period in our nation. Also known as the Prohibition era and how St. Augustine handled these difficult times.

Further along, the Matanzas Bayfront heading south, we will stop and touch on our almost forgotten history of Fort Mose.

The tour will stop in front of the Oldest House and talk about its unique characteristics of Spanish/British influence.

While in the oldest district of St. Augustine we will talk about its archaeological findings.

Around the Flagler College building the tour will go into the Civil Rights Movement and the events that happened here in St. Augustine.
