Stop At: St. Augustine, St. Augustine, Florida

Our exploration begins at Saint Augustine’s traditional gathering place for our meet and greet where your ideas, photographic questions, frustrations, and desires are heard and woven into our time together.

Plaza de la Constitution is a square of land bordered by the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Trinity Episcopal, and the Government House. The plaza has been a central part of St. Augustine since 1573 when it was first laid out by the Spanish

Stop At: 11 Aviles Street Artists and Craftsmen Guild, 11 Aviles St, St. Augustine, FL 32084-4457

Aviles Street in St. Augustine is the oldest street in the nation also St. Augustine’s original artist district, dating back to the 1930s the street also boasts some of St. Augustine’s oldest historical sites providing a great background for compositional tools such as leading lines, using foreground for depth and trying out new camera angles.

Stop At: Governor’s House Cultural Center and Museum, 48 King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084, USA

Governors house This historic site has served the city of St. Augustine since 1598. This site served as the administrative headquarters and residences for colonial governors appointed by Spain, then Britain, and then Spain again. This historic site, the coquina walls windows are believed to date back to St. Augustine’s first Spanish colonial period offers an ideal ambiance in the morning light.

Stop At: Father Miguel O’Reilly House Museum, 32 Aviles St, St. Augustine, FL 32084-4445

Built during the first Spanish Period, the Father O’Reilly House Museum is one of the oldest structures in St. Augustine — and situated in the oldest continuously settled neighborhood. Constructed in 1691, and made of tabby and coquina, the building was purchased by Father Miguel O’Reilly in 1785. Father Miguel, an Irish priest in the service of the Spanish crown, made this house a place of spirituality and education, preserving the old values. Doorways, interesting gates, and narrow streets make for excellent subjects to improve compositional skills and camera functions.
