Durand Jones grew up singing in church in rural Louisiana, where he was steeped in gospel music. Later, he moved to Indiana and met drummer Aaron Frazer, with whom he formed the soul outfit Durand Jones & the Indications. Their sound is heavily influenced by the classic R&B and soul of the 1960s and 1970s, with Jones’ passionate and gritty vocals front and center. After releasing their self-titled debut album in 2016, the band became a rising star on the indie soul scene. In 2019, they released their second album, American Love Call, which earned critical acclaim and featured collaborations with producers and musicians like Mark Neill and Aaron Frazer’s solo work. Durand Jones continues to tour and perform, sharing his powerful voice and heartfelt performances with audiences around the world.
