New York native Marc Anthony, born Marco Antonio Muniz to Puerto Rican parents, is the top-selling salsa artist of all time and has wowed fans across the globe for 20-plus years. In 2013 Anthony released 3.0, his first album of new salsa material in almost a decade. He spent the second half of 2013 on his “Vivir Mi Vida” world tour, refocusing his concert setlists on upbeat salsa material and creating a party-like atmosphere for fans who bought tickets. Anthony released his debut album, “When the Night Is Over,” in 1991, and immediately found success when its single “Ride on the Rhythm” topped Billboard’s dance music charts. In the years that followed, he released a mix of English- and Spanish-language albums, occasionally crossing into the pop mainstream but always keeping a foot in his salsa roots. It’s been a wildly successful route, resulting in more than 30 million albums sold worldwide, a pair of Grammy Awards, and three Latin Grammy Awards.
