Pensacola Ice Flyers Background

The Pensacola Ice Flyers were founded in 2009, following the Ice Pilots who had been part of the ECHL since 1996. The team began playing at the Pensacola Bay Center in the 2009-10 season as a member of the SPHL. Since then, the Ice Flyers have become one of the top teams in the league, winning multiple championships and making a significant impact on the community. The team is owned by Greg Harris, who took over in 2012. With four President’s Cup championships, they are tied for most in league history. Their attendance numbers consistently rank in the top three in the league. The Ice Flyers will celebrate their 15th anniversary during the 2023-24 season.
