QUIET RIOT IN CONCERT:

Quiet Riot holds the distinct honor of being the first metal band to top the Billboard 200, a feat they accomplished back in 1983 with their seminal breakthrough album Metal Health. Since then, they’ve lived up to their name, enjoying one of the longest-running careers in the genre and continuing to sell out shows with their hair-raising onstage energy.  With the recently anointed Jizzy Pearl on vocals and a new album due out in 2014, Quiet Riot will be bringing the thunder on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in 1973 by legendary metal guitarist Randy Rhoads, Quiet Riot built a huge regional following in their hometown of Los Angeles in the mid-‘70s. Rhoads’ departure in 1979 to join Ozzy Osbourne’s band effectively ended the group, but following his death in a plane crash in 1982, the members returned to the studio to pay tribute to the late guitarist. The result was their 1983 American debut full-length Metal Health, the first metal album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 thanks to hit singles “Cum on Feel the Noize” and “Bang Your Head (Metal Health).”  As pioneers of metal’s popularity in the mainstream, the band has spent the last three decades recording and touring, earning a reputation for their tireless dedication and riotous live shows.
