    WEEN IN CONCERT:

From joke-rock heroes to experimental weirdos, Ween left no stone unturned in their 25 years of tongue-in-cheek sonic exploration before parting ways in 2012. The band’s cult following dreamed of a reunion, and in late 2015 their wish was granted when Gene and Dean Ween teamed up once again to bring their weird and wild sounds back to stages everywhere. Since the band’s return, audiences have eaten up their impressive musicianship, off-the-wall humor, and eclectic catalog of fan favorites like “L.M.L.Y.P.”, “Bumblebee”, and “Push th’ Little Daises”.  Whether they’re putting their idiosyncratic twist on classic rock bravado, honky tonk country, or Prince’s “Minneapolis sound”, the two always manage to turn their diverse influences into something that can only be described as Ween—and that’s exactly what ticket buyers want.

    BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ween began as a series of tape machine experiments made by New Hope, PA natives Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo—otherwise known as Gene and Dean Ween. Starting in 1984 the duo began performing along to pre-recorded backing tracks, which they eventually converted into a series of late ‘80s cassette releases. After developing a cult following with performances at venues like Trenton, NJ’s famed City Gardens, the group attracted the attention of Twin/Tone Records, which commissioned the group’s 1990 debut GodWeenSatan: The Oneness. Ween jumped to major label Elektra for 1993’s Pure Guava and began to tour tirelessly, ultimately becoming one of the biggest cult bands to emerge in the ‘90s. Despite their success, Freeman walked away from the group in 2012 to deal with his drug and alcohol abuse. Ween thrilled fans in 2015 when they announced that a refocused and refreshed Freeman would be joining them for several live performances. While the reunion has fans excited to hear old favorites, devoted listeners are just as eager to see if Ween returns to the studio to release their first album in nearly a decade.
