This tour is a great way to visit D.C.’s iconic sites, including the White House (outside the gates and grounds). Explore the history of the nation’s capital as well as the monuments and memorials of the National Mall that feature figures like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Your guide will share the stories about the major players and events in American history that have earned memorials on the Mall, including the Korean War, World War II, and Vietnam. They’ll even divulge the intricate symbolism woven into these structures. You’ll be treated to many photo opportunities along the way, so keep your camera handy.

You will pass by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a 2-acre national memorial which pays tribute to the members of the U.S Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War and were killed or missing in action. The memorial is made up of three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial War, considered the most popular feature.

Another memorial you will come across is the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Dedicated on July 27, 1995, the memorial honors the 5.8 million Americans who served in the U.S armed services during the three-year period of the Korean War.

You will also see the National World War II Memorial, a memorial of national significance which commemorates the Americans who served in the U.S armed forces during WW2 and all who supported the war effort from home, The Second World War is the only 20th Century event commemorated on the National Mall’s central axis.
